Jackie our day with you was absolutely delightful and your passion for fly fishing and love of Ireland has me yearning to return.

You're a true gentleman and I now consider you a dear friend! Kindest regards.

Jackie is an excellent guide and boatman. He watches every cast as if he had the rod in his own hand and is just as excited to see the anglers he is guiding catch the fish as he would be to catch them himself. A day out with Jackie means that you will definitely be over fish but it is up to the anglers to catch them lol!

Jackie is a true Gentleman and now become a great friend after many trips to Arrow. Thanks again Jackie for the memories and the flies that have help make them! See you in April!

...I learnt more in that day about Melvin than I did in all the years I had previously fished it. I used the knowledge Jackie shared with me during our day out, on the match day and I was fortunate to be part of an Irish Team Gold win and claim the Brown Bowl for the top rod in the International. But I must go further, Jackie boated the team by day and tied by night, it did not matter what we wanted tied Jackie had them done for us. To this day I do not know how he kept going and I have no doubt that Jackie had a huge part to play in our win...

I have no hesitation in recommending Jackie as a guide and a fly tyer. If you want a good day out or patterns for the wild brown trout you need to look no further.

Myself and friend Alan had a wonderful day on Lough Arrow in early September under the watchful eye of Jackie. Jackie is a true gentleman, incredibly knowledgeable of the lake and ensured we were setup for success by providing us flies (that worked!) and putting us over the best spots. The attention to detail in his flies is simply world class and I have no doubt made the difference on the day for us. I would highly recommend anyone thinking of a day out on Lough Arrow to get in touch with him, you won't regret it and will be a better angler because of it!

I had a day afloat on Lough Arrow in late May, with Jackie Mahon as my guide. I had fished Arrow a couple of days before, and found the fishing to be tough, to say the least. Right from the onset of our day, we met fish, finishing up with twelve fish to the boat, including a 5lbs and a 6lbs fish between the two anglers. Having fished Arrow many times before, the day in question was by far my best day on the Lough. I would thoroughly recommend Jackie as a guide, as I found him to be extremely knowledgeable, attentive and hard working.

I can't recommend a day out with Jackie enough! He is a superb guide and his knowledge of the lakes around the northwest are second to none. He is a very progressive fly tier and his patterns really work. If you can manage to get a day out with him you should jump at the opportunity!

Jackie is the consummate professional who works hard to deliver you a pleasurable and memorable experience afloat Catch22 his boat. A lovely spacious, comfortable and very safe craft indeed.

Being a former Irish fly-fishing Internationalist and major competition winner, he is "The Real Deal". A world class fly Tyer his patterns are sorely sought after. Fishing with Jackie many times, his knowledge of the lakes of the west of Ireland is unsurpassable especially Arrow and Melvin. The former holds a special place in his heart which he knows every inch of it intimately.

There is no better a guide to put you on fish a while away a day catching wild browns with. A truly unique experience indeed. I for one can highly recommend Jackie.

Thanks again Jackie for the Mayfly trips and late September fishing. There were good days and tough going days but they all were enjoyable, and there were a few Trout in there as well. See you next year!
